Republican candidate Pete Flores of Pleasanton was in Lampasas last week for a meet-andgreet event at Putters & Gutters Fun Center, hosted by former game warden Jim Lindeman and Sheriff Jess Ramos. Flores, who retired as a colonel from his game warden career with Texas Parks & Wildlife, is campaigning to represent Senate District 24. Lt. Gov. County judge reappointed to transit board

Lampasas County Judge Randy Hoyer was reappointed to the Hill Country Transit District Board for another term. The district is an association of nine Central Texas communities that pool resources to provide low-cost transportation services, including The HOP bus system.

Lampasas ISD announce winter weather closures

Lampasas Independent School District will be closed Thursday, officials confirmed Wednesday. Whether the LISD schools will reopen Friday is still in question, according to Superintendent Dr. Chance Rascoe.
