Hanna Springs students experience career day

Hanna Springs Elementary School students heard from 17 different professionals during the campus’ Career Exploration Day on March 7.Hanna Springs counselor Carissa Brown said the event allows youngsters to start contemplating their future career path.

Browning members to celebrate garden club’s birthday

The Browning Community Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday at 10 a.m. Members have planned a potluck to celebrate the club’s birthday and will preview the new club website. Participants should bring a dish to share and the recipe.

Badger Band remembers the Alamo!

The Lampasas High School Badger Band spent three days in San Antonio recently, visiting Six Flags, Sea World and the Alamo, where the music once echoed from Davy Crockett’s fiddle.

Prayer vigil held for injured LHS graduate

Friends of Madison Roedler staged a prayer gathering last Friday on the courthouse square. The Lampasas High School graduate was injured in a head-on collision March 2 in Coryell County and remained hospitalized.

The report from the March 13 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows.Cattle and calves: Total cattle 249, compared to 279 last sale and 1,269 at this time last year.Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were $5-$10 higher. Slaughter cows were $3-$5 higher, and slaughter bulls were $2--$4 higher.
