AMVETS holds bench dedication

Department of Texas AMVETS held a ceremony April 19 at the Olin E. Teague Veterans Center in Temple to dedicate memorial benches in honor of two Lampasas County veterans.

CLASS OF 1972 The Lampasas High School Class of 1972 will celebrate its 50-year reunion on July 8 from 6-9 p.m. at Putters & Gutters Fun Center, 2341 South U.S.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27 th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Kooper Neil Chaney pleaded guilty to a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle, for which he received five years’ deferred probation with participation in an Intermediate Sanction Facility program as a condition.

For Lometa Independent School District, a few major changes were presented at its recent meeting of trustees, mainly the announcement of closure of the Leon Valley campus in Gatesville.

Motorcycle crash sends woman to hospital

A 65-year-old Killeen woman was airlifted to a nearby hospital after she collided with a deer. On Sunday at approximately 9:16 p.m., Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a motorcycle crash in the 12000 block of East U.S.
