Bond for two constables was approved Monday morning by the Lampasas County Commissioners Court. In March, the Commissioners Court appointed Bob Montgomery to fill the Precinct 1 constable position, previously held by Dennis James, and Mandy Esparza to fill the vacant Precinct 4 constable position.

Lampasas County child abuses cases continue to increase, but officials and surviving families believe the issue can be mitigated with local services focused on education and awareness. Haylee Brewer was no stranger to child abuse cases due to her nine years on the Lampasas County Child Welfare Board and her two terms as board vice president, but she saw a new side of things when her daughter became an abuse survivor in 2020.

EARLY VOTING BEGINS Those who wish to vote early in the May 7 constitutional amendment, city council and/or school board elections may do so through May 3 at the Lampasas County Elections Office, 407 S. Pecan St.
