Lometa’s second city budget meeting provided more discussions on proposed cuts and shifts in spending. These changes could be approved for the 2022-2023 fiscal year, which begins in October. As discussed at the last workshop, the goal of these meetings is to have a balanced and organized budget.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Christopher Lee Henderson of Copperas Cove entered pleas of guilty and was found guilty of three separate charges of driving while intoxicated-third or more.

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

After several rounds of negotiations, county officials have chosen Hamilton County Hospital District EMS as the new ambulance service for Lampasas County. The rural-based provider will begin its services in October.
