Lometa FFA Livestock Show set for Dec. 14

The air is getting cooler, and the barn is warming up as stock show season is upon us once again. Lometa’s FFA program will host its annual stock show on Dec. 14, beginning at 9 a.m.

Three dead in Coryell County collision

Three individuals were pronounced dead after a pursuit and crash in Coryell County on Wednesday.Texas DPS officials said troopers responded to a report of a vehicle that was “actively failing to yield right of way” and fleeing from police patrol units into Coryell County.

Sales tax receipts show gains toward end of 2024

With one month remaining in the calendar year, area businesses are showing sales growth in most cities across Central Texas. For those that have decreased revenues compared to last year, the deficits are relatively small through November.

Checking on gas leak near Sulphur Creek

Atmos Energy crew members work to repair a gas leak last Thursday at the intersection of Business 281 and West 10th Street, near businesses in the Market Place at Sulphur Creek. The Lampasas Fire Department assisted in closing down one block of West 10th Street for public safety.

Contractor services approved for LCAD property appraisal assistance

The Lampasas Central Appraisal District Board of Directors OK’d two contracts with Eagle Appraisal and Consulting Inc. on Thursday for assistance with appraisals.Also, board members spent time discussing the possibility of adding a taxpayer liaison officer to the district’s staff.

Bake sale, decorated trees planned at museum

The Lampasas County Bake Sale and the Christmas Tree and Gingerbread House contest displays will be available at the Lampasas County Museum on Western Street during the Carol of Lights Festival on Dec. 7.
