Sunday will mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I – the deadliest conflict the world had seen up to that point. Veterans Day, commemorated each year on Nov. 11, originated with Armistice Day, which marked the formal end of the war.
County Judge Wayne Boultinghouse has lifted the county's burn ban until Monday at 6 p.m. As a result, controlled outdoor fires are allowed outside incorporated city limits.
