Lampasas city leadership continues to prepare for the 2024 solar eclipse and has invited the community to participate in a town hall meeting on April 5. The gathering will be held in the cafeteria of the old middle school at 107 N.

Lampasas County Museum’s Saturday afternoon concert series extends through the month of April. The free performances are offered in conjunction with the exhibit “And the Beat Goes On” that highlights the area’s musical legacy.

Snake hunters and volunteers Stephen Hamilton, James Smith, Mikle Armstrong and Doug Houston wrangle a large rattlesnake during Saturday’s Diamondback Jubilee. The annual event featured approximately 160 snakes turned in for measurement.

Lometa L-M Garden and Civic Club had its March meeting Monday evening at the garden club building. About 12 members were present for the business session and short program.

Lampasas County Farm Bureau has donated John Erickson’s “Hank the Cowdog Ranch Life” books, “Ranching and Livestock” and “Cowboys and Horses” to the agriscience program at Lampasas High School.
