A story in the Feb. 7 edition about the Flood Control Seminar held last week incorrectly stated that six people died in the 1957 Mother’s Day flood in Lampasas.Five fatalities were recorded, said Jane McMillin. The deaths were those of Minerva Richardson, Joe and Lorena Crawford, Leo K.

Forward Lampasas works to clear up creek

Revitalization plans for Sulphur Creek are underway. Forward Lampasas, a local nonprofit organization that has filed for 501(c)(3) status, is spearheading the effort.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide will conduct free federal tax preparation services for the 2024 tax year. Assistance is available on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from now through April 15 at 302 E. Third St. in Lampasas (the Jack Calvert Municipal Building).

Burn ban could be lifted at some point this week

 *UPDATE: Lampasas County Judge Randy Hoyer has lifted the burn ban until Monday, Feb. 17. Lampasas County residents could see the burn ban lifted at some time this week following discussions in Monday’s Lampasas County Commissioners Court regular meeting.

KWSC announces leak along FM 2808

 UPDATE: KWSC General Manager Bruce Sorenson says the 6-inch main line leak was repaired on Tuesday. The Kempner Water Supply Corp. sent a text message to members at 10:45 a.m. this morning of a leak along Farm-to-Market Road 2808.

Casino Night planned for Feb. 15
