Lampasas Community Gardens will offer a free Square Foot Gardening Class on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Community Gardens site in Campbell Park.Participants will learn how to grow vegetables using the square foot gardening method, taught by a certified instructor.

Spiller outlines legislative priorities

District 68 State Rep. David Spiller (R-Jacksboro) made his first stop in Lampasas County since the opening of the 89th Texas Legislature. He spoke Tuesday at the Lampasas County Office Building at a gathering hosted by Texas First Conservative Alliance.

Police arrest two more on child sex charges

The Kempner Police Department, in coordination with the Texas Department of Public Safety Human Trafficking Division, has arrested two men on charges related to child pornography and sexual assault of a child.

Sales taxes receipts post big jump in February

For the first time since November 2021, every city in the region whose sales tax rebates are tracked by the Dispatch Record showed a percentage gain this month.

School choice bill passes Senate, heads to Texas House

Texas House members will decide the fate of Senate Bill 2 that would establish Education Savings Accounts, better known as school choice legislation.On Feb. 5, the Texas Senate passed SB 2 by a 1912 vote.
