State comptroller says sales tax growth is slowing

The Lampasas County Museum hosted a ceremony Friday to begin a year of celebrating Lampasas’ sesquicentennial. Museum board president Boyce Cabaniss opened the event by introducing Mayor TJ Monroe and reminding attendees to stay for refreshments that included Blue Bell ice cream.

Museum to recognize Lampasas sesquicentennial

Those who have studied Texas history know that April 21 is San Jacinto Day, commemorating the battle in which Sam Houston and his rag-tag Texians defeated the much-larger Mexican Army, captured Gen. Santa Anna and won Texas its independence.

Concerts at museum continue through April

Lampasas County Museum will offer two more Saturday concert dates featuring local musicians. The free performances have been held in conjunction with the museum’s “And the Beat Goes On” exhibit that celebrates the music legacy of the county.
