Kempner City Council declines to support new budget for appraisal district

The only piece of action in Tuesday’s Kempner City Council meeting was a resolution against the proposed 2026 Lampasas Central Appraisal District Budget.The measure passed 3-1. Place 4 Councilman Dan Long was absent from the proceedings due to illness.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the day’s hearings.Defendant Thomas Luther Workman of Copperas Cove entered a plea of guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated-third or more and pleaded true to the prior charges.

Crash into utility pole causes traffic problems in Kempner

Traffic along U.S. Highway 190 was stalled for four hours in Kempner on Wednesday morning after a motorist crashed into a utility pole.

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

Several wayfinding signs now in place around town

Residents may have noticed some new blue signs flanking both sides of Key Avenue, highlighting landmarks and notable sites around town. The signs are the result of a city-funded project coming to fruition.
