Feathered friends enjoy sunny day before next week’s heat

Hot and humid weather expected late this weekend through the middle of next week will push afternoon heat index values close to 105 in the Lampasas County area, National Weather Service meteorologists said.

For the first time, Lampasas Animal Shelter is partnering with the Lampasas Public Library for a summer reading program. Children 5 to 13 years old, along with a parent or guardian, will be able to visit the shelter this summer and read to one of the animals.

Quartet performs for Keystone audience
