Lampasas City Council, EDC to host joint workshop

The Lampasas Economic Development Corp. and Lampasas City Council are scheduled for a joint workshop tentatively planned for June 4.This will be the second workshop the two bodies have held in 2025.Mayor Herb Pearce said the meeting could cover the EDC’s open director position.

Veterans offer salute to the fallen

Two veterans salute the wreath after it was placed in front of the flag pole at the courthouse on Monday morning. Residents gathered on Memorial Day to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country. Between 50 and 100 people were present at the wreathlaying ceremony.

Honor guard from Fort Cavazos

The honor guard presents arms after firing off a salute to Lampasas County residents who served in World War II. The second World War and those from here who were involved was the focus of American Legion Post Commander Steve Cook’s comments during the Memorial Day event.

Honoring our fallen servicemembers

In advance of the Memorial Day remembrance event, American Legion volunteers have placed the flags of various armed services branches so they flank the Lampasas County Courthouse. A ceremony to honor those who sacrificed their lives for their country will begin at 11:30 a.m.

FLAGS AT OAK HILL CEMETERY Lampasas American Legion Post 277 will place flags on more than 1,000 graves of veterans buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in recognition of Memorial Day.Volunteers are welcome to join on Saturday from 8-10 a.m. to assist with flag placement.
