Phthalates have been making national news lately as villainous chemicals, but for the last 20 years, studies have been connecting all sorts of man-made substances to hormone disruption. These substances can be found in the makeup you wear, the shampoo and soaps you use, the furniture you sit on, the containers from which you eat and the toys your children play with.

Holiday home tour set for December

The first stop on the Christmas Tour of Homes is the residence of Clint and Cherise Moses, located at 808 W. First St. in Lampasas. The tour, sponsored each year by the Lampasas County Museum, is scheduled for Dec. 5 from 1-5 p.m.

Boy Scouts to collect non-perishables for food drive

Boy Scout Troop 200 will be out on the streets of Lampasas Saturday, collecting canned goods and other non-perishable items for its food drive. The troop left donation bags at local residents’ doorsteps last week and will return Saturday to collect these bags and deliver them to area food pantries.
