Local student to participate as delegate in Texas 4-H Congress

Texas 4-H Congress will take place at the State Capitol July 17-20. This four-day mock legislative experience allows 4-H members in grades 9-12 to assume the roles of legislators, lobbyists and press corps to gain a firsthand understanding of how the legislative process works in Texas.

Range workshop held in Junction

Lampasas FFA members Clayton Shaw, left, and Zechariah Randall attended a Range Management Youth Range Workshop June 19-24 at the Texas Tech campus in Junction. The workshop included sessions on range management, plant identification, soil science, wildlife management and fire ecology. Shaw and Randall were named honorary ramrods for their cabins.

Reaching Nairobi: LHS grad returns from missionary work in Africa

Lampasas High School graduate returned from a recent mission trip to Kenya with a new perspective on the power of God’s love. Morgann Schroeder, a 2018 LHS graduate, traveled with a missionary group to Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, to spend a little over five weeks developing a network of believers in what she described as a shortterm mission trip. Sunday afternoon to feature ‘West(ern) Side Story’

After most Spring Ho festival activities have wrapped up this weekend, residents and visitors to Lampasas can round out the activities with a visit to East Second Street and Western Avenue. From 1-4 p.m., the Lampasas Heritage Foundation will host its "West(ern) Side Story" celebration at 404 E.

In recognition of longtime service
