AdventHealth Central Texas names new CEO

Jennifer Swenson has been named president and chief executive officer for AdventHealth Central Texas and AdventHealth Rollins Brook. She will assume the new role on Oct. 20 and will report to Trevor Wright, president/CEO of AdventHealth’s Southwest Region.

’36 Club opens new year

In September, the GFWC ’36 Club welcomed members back to the first meeting to kick off the new season. A catered lunch was provided by the Social Committee and included brisket and chicken from Nothin’ Butts BBQ. Social Committee members also provided homemade desserts.

Lometa superintendent reports school off to good start

The Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees met Sept. 22 for its monthly gathering, which dealt mostly with updates.Superintendent Rob Moore began the meeting by recognizing the students and staff member of the month before discussing various reports.

Chamber music festival to hold concert this weekend

Lampasas County Chamber Music Festival will hold a fundraiser concert Oct. 4 at 3 p.m., hosted by Joe and Cindy Abel.The concert will take place in the offices of MD Abel Co., at the historic Manuel Hardware Building, 401 E. Third St. in Lampasas.Admission is free.

LAFTA planning for annual Boots and Blazers Ball

Lampasas Association for the Arts is gearing up to host its biggest fundraiser yet with the Boots and Blazers Ball on Oct. 11 at the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden.The event will celebrate LAFTA’s 20th year of promoting the arts to all ages in Lampasas County.
