For 150 years, Lampasas County residents have worshipped at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Despite trials and tribulations, faith in Jesus has carried congregants through the toughest of storms, its priest noted.“St.

Sons of Confederate Veterans sharpen artillery skills at Fort Concho

Members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans from Central Texas recently immersed themselves in the art of historical artillery at Fort Concho, participating in the “School of the Piece” Oct. 3-5.

Lampasas County Museum is pleased to help celebrate 150 years of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, the oldest church building with continuous worship services in Lampasas County. The exhibition, which opens today, will be on display at the museum through Nov. 1.

SCV group participates in Oatmeal Festival

Animals need blessings, too

Local animal lovers gathered at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church recently for the Blessing of the Pets. Besides a blessing from the Rev. Bill Fowler, pets were treated to plenty of water and small “pup cups” of whipped cream. The annual event honors Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

Kempner’s Trunk or Treat returns Oct. 31
