Butterfly on the move south

A monarch butterfly lands on a flower at Cooper Spring Nature Park. Some monarchs fly as far as 3,000 miles to reach their overwinter home, traveling 50-100 miles per day, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

Scouts to hold food drive

Scout Troop 200/400 will hold its annual food drive this coming week. Bags will be distributed in various neighborhoods the morning of Nov. 1.The Scouts ask that residents generously fill the bags with non-perishable food. They will collect the bags the morning of Nov. 8.
