Lampasas County Elections Office posts 2025 General Election results

The Lampasas County Elections office has posted unofficial results for the 2025 General Election that included 17 constitutional amendments.As of  9:44 p.m., the Texas Secretary of State website had 36% of polling locations across the state reporting.

Ten Commandments posters coming to LISD classrooms

In the coming weeks, Lampasas ISD will place Ten Commandments posters in each classroom throughout the district after community donations funded the project.

Huntington Bancshares set to acquire Cadence

In 2026, Cadence Bank in Lampasas will have a new name.On Oct. 27, Huntington Bancshares announced it had entered into an agreement to acquire Cadence Bank -- the $53 billion bank headquartered in Houston and Tupelo, Miss.

Texans to decide on changes to constitution

Registered voters statewide will have the opportunity today to vote on 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution. In Lampasas County, voters may cast a ballot at any of the three vote centers offered.

Layne’s Chicken Fingers coming to Lampasas

Born in Aggieland, Layne’s Chicken Fingers will be the newest addition to Key Avenue when the fast-food restaurant opens in early December.The restaurant chain that started in College Station in 1994 is known for its chicken tenders and “secret sauce.”Layne’s began franchising locations in 2021.

Lampasas 4-H will hold a drivethru pork chop dinner Nov. 12 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Lampasas County Livestock Showbarn, 283 North U.S. Highway 183.Tickets are $10 each for a pork chop dinner that also includes green beans and potato salad.

Scouts to hold food drive

Scout Troop 200/400 will hold its annual food drive this week. Bags were distributed in various neighborhoods the morning of Nov. 1.The Scouts ask that residents generously fill the bags with nonperishable foods. They will collect the bags from front porches the morning of Nov. 8.

Hornets can’t get offense going against May

Lometa fell to 0-2 in district play and 4-5 overall on Friday, after losing to the May Tigers by a score of 56-8. Lometa had a strong start to the game but couldn’t sustain the offensive success.May struck first in the first quarter after a long drive to take a 6-0 lead.

JV and freshman teams play season finale at Marble Falls

The junior varsity and freshman football teams played their final games of the season last Thursday when they traveled to Marble Falls to take on the Mustangs.The freshmen dominated their way to another victory, 55-13. The Lampasas JV came up short, losing 20-7.
