Lockout ends at Taylor Creek Elementary

A lockout at Taylor Creek Elementary School ended late Friday morning after officials responded to a report of verbal threats made against a school staff member. Lampasas Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Chane Rascoe said at 8:41 a.m., School Resource Officer Sgt.

Ministry grows; seeks more resources to help it expand in 2021

Since opening its permanent site in May 2019, New Beginning of Restoration and Hope Pregnancy Resource Center has continued to expand its work in Lampasas and is delivering services to more and more clients.

Spilled materials cleaned up at fueling station

A commercial customer accidentally dumped his load down the middle of the truck pumping lanes at the Valero station on E.E. Ohnmeiss Drive. Local contractors had to be called in to clear the materials so the pumps could reopen for service.

Corix Utilities – which owns the Lometa Regional Water System and supplies water to users in parts of the county west of the city of Lampasas – has sent a letter to customers about an elevated total trihalomethanes level in the drinking water.

Application period opens for Brigade summer camps

Texas Brigades is accepting applications for its summer Brigade Camps. The series of eight statewide camps are open to youth 13-17 years of age who are interested in the outdoors. Participants are introduced to subjectspecific stewardship, conservation and management topics throughout five days.

Lampasas ISD board honors health-service providers

The Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees recognized Dr. Georgia Hay, the local health authority, and Donna Clark, the district’s director of school health services, for helping to keep the LISD schools in operation despite COVID-19.
