Corix notifies users of elevated chemicals in water
Water flows from a faucet in Lampasas County. Corix Utilities, which supplies water through the Lometa Regional Water System, has notified customers of some elevated compounds that may be present in the drinking water.
Corix Utilities – which owns the Lometa Regional Water System and supplies water to users in parts of the county west of the city of Lampasas – has sent a letter to customers about an elevated total trihalomethanes level in the drinking water.
Trihalomethanes occur when carbon-based compounds that naturally occur in surface water interact with the chlorine used to disinfect the water.
