Lampasas leaders say FFA prepared them for success

Many Lampasas community leaders participated in FFA in their youth. They credit the program with preparing them for leadership and success, and with granting them lifelong friendships.

Utilities restored after deep freeze

A weather station 11 miles west-northwest of Lampasas reported continuous subfreezing temperatures for 206 hours -- about eight and half days (Feb. 10-19), according to the Lower Colorado River Authority.

Elections set for mayor, council seats

Lampasas, Kempner and Lometa will hold May 1 elections for city government positions. No election will be necessary for the Lampasas and Lometa school districts, however, as there are no contested school board races.

BOIL-WATER NOTICE LIFTED The city of Lampasas has rescinded the notice for residents to boil water before consuming it. As of Feb. 20, the city had laboratory test results that indicated water no longer needs to be boiled before use.
