Buckley files HB 1715 to expand rural broadband

State Rep. Brad Buckley (R-Salado) has filed House Bill 1715, proposed legislation that would amend the Special District Local Laws Code to authorize the Lower Colorado River Authority to construct broadband infrastructure and facilitate broadband connectivity within its boundaries.

Historic home sees water damage during deep freeze

Couple celebrates 50th wedding anniversary

Randy and Jo-Lynn (Faust) Mull are celebrating their 50 th wedding anniversary. They were married Feb. 19, 1971 in Peru, Indiana. The couple met on a blind date during their freshman year at Purdue University, where they both later completed their degrees.

Historic freeze, outages disrupt daily life across Texas

Two buildings lost in recent fires; four others saved

Since the start of last week, Lampasas Fire Department responded to several residential structure fires: two resulted in total losses, one was contained to a kitchen, and three others were extinguished in the chimney.

FOOD PANTRY POSTPONED Due to ongoing weather issues and poor road conditions, St. Mary Catholic Church has decided to cancel the drive-through food distribution planned for Feb. 19. The food pantry instead will be held Feb. 26 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This will be the only one offered this month.
