District clerk prevails in civil case

A civil case that involved District Clerk Edith Wagner Harrison has been dismissed.Dib Waldrip, presiding judge of the Third Administrative Judicial Region, issued his ruling last Wednesday in a matter between Shaleah Stevens – a former employee of the district clerk’s office – and Harrison.

New invasive pest threatens ag industry

Courthouse parking lot restriped

After rains last week delayed work on the parking lot around the county courthouse, crews were back at this week to seal cracks, resurface the area and paint stripes for parking spaces.

Town hall features Democrat candidates

On Wednesday evening, three Democratic Party candidates for positions at different levels of government met for a town hall where they spoke and addressed audience questions.Clayton Tucker, Wade Wooten and Justin Early were present in the old middle school cafeteria from 7-8:30 p.m.

Back to School Bash planned for faculty

Lampasas ISD staff will have the chance to get plugged in with local businesses at the district’s “Back to School Bash” scheduled for Aug. 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Lampasas High School cafeteria.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened several times in July, with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the hearings.On July 17, the following action was taken: Sean Thomas Johnson of Jarrell entered a plea of true to a charge of possession of child pornography less than 100 visual depictions.
