Fire in camper displaces Kempner-area family

A fire late Tuesday afternoon in the east end of the county destroyed a Sierra RV and displaced a family. Multiple fire departments responded to a structure fire in the 700 block of County Road 4804 shortly before 5 p.m. The fire was contained just before 5:30 p.m.

On Saturday morning Lampasas County residents, veterans, first responders and active-duty servicemembers assembled around the courthouse square with solemn remembrances and vows to "never forget." The homage was part of a ceremony to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Sept.

Burnet to continue housing some Lampasas County inmates

A unanimous vote by the Lampasas County Commissioners Court on Monday resulted in a new agreement to house local inmates in an out-of-county jail. The new agreement between the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office and the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office will take effect Oct. 1.
