FLAG PLACEMENT FOR VETERANS The public is invited to join military veterans’ organizations, veterans, families and Scouts in placing American flags on the graves of veterans in Oak Hill Cemetery. The flag-placement event is scheduled Saturday at 8 a.m.

Banquet to raise funds for pregnancy center

A banquet for New Beginning of Restoration and Hope Pregnancy Resource Center is set Saturday at First United Methodist Church, at 2 Alexander Lane. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the banquet will start at 6 p.m. Alfredo’s Mexican Restaurant is providing the meal. Tickets are $20.

CATTLE AUCTION

The Oct. 27 Lampasas Cattle Auction report follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 695, compared to 742 last sale and 155 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows were $1-$3 higher, and slaughter bulls were steady.

Voting takes place today across the state in the Texas constitutional amendment election. Early balloting ended Friday. Three county vote centers are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A voter registered in Lampasas County may cast a ballot at any one of these centers.

The Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office is creating a new culture of officer health and wellness with the addition of a new rower and an optional training program.
