Kempner Water Supply calls for review to determine cause of August service outage

In a 6-3 vote last week, the Kempner Water Supply Corp. Board of Directors appointed a review board to determine the cause of a service outage that occurred in August.

Banquet to raise funds for pregnancy center

A banquet for New Beginning of Restoration and Hope Pregnancy Resource Center is set Saturday at First United Methodist Church, at 2 Alexander Lane. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the banquet will start at 6 p.m. Alfredo’s Mexican Restaurant is providing the meal. Tickets are $20.

CATTLE AUCTION

The Oct. 27 Lampasas Cattle Auction report follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 695, compared to 742 last sale and 155 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows were $1-$3 higher, and slaughter bulls were steady.
