The December drive-through food pantry at St. Mary Catholic Church will take place Dec. 17 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. All in need are welcome to participate, a church spokesman said. Come to the church parking lot at 701 N. Key Ave., and volunteers will load the vehicle with groceries.

From Nov. 29 through Dec. 9, the Texas Department of Transportation will collect data in many locations throughout the nine-county Brownwood District, which includes Lampasas County.

County prohibits some types of fireworks ahead of holiday season

Want to do impromptu fireworks to celebrate the holidays? Think again. Some fireworks now are prohibited in the unincorporated parts of Lampasas County, and outdoor burning guidelines are back in place. The city of Lampasas already has a year-round fireworks ban.

Barn fire on County Road 1045 destroys household items

A fire early Monday morning northwest of Lampasas resulted in a family losing household and personal items. Firefighters from the Lampasas Fire Department, Kempner Volunteer Fire Department and Lometa Volunteer Fire Department responded to a barn fire about 7:13 a.m.
