State Rep. Spiller to hold meet and greet Monday with local residents

Rep. David Spiller, R-Jacksboro, will hold a meet-and-greet event with Lampasas County residents early Monday evening. From 6-7:30 p.m. at Putter’s and Gutters Fun Center, 2341 U.S. Highway 281, Spiller will speak with residents and learn about their concerns.

Lampasas man accused of stabbing family member

A Lampasas man was arrested over the Thanksgiving weekend after an alleged fight turned violent. Lampasas Police Department responded to a domestic call in the 500 block of Dawn’s Peak around 6 p.m. Sunday. The residence is in the Sunrise Hills subdivision.

Former Kempner police officer Sowder arrested

Former city of Kempner police officer Andrew Sowder, who also worked with the Marble Falls Police Department, was taken into custody and charged with illegally obtaining restricted governmental information for a non-law enforcement reason.

Thanksgiving weekend fire displaces family temporarily

A Lampasas family has been displaced after a fire occurred at their house over the Thanksgiving weekend. Last Saturday around 8:32 p.m., the Lampasas Fire Department and Lampasas Police Department responded to a fire in the 1400 block of Howe Street.

CDC recommends getting flu vaccine

Cold and flu season is here, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends getting a flu vaccine to prevent getting sick. The vaccines are updated every year to protect against new strains of the flu virus.

Christmas decorations seen on the courthouse square
