Rabid bat found at Taylor Creek Elementary

A Copperas Cove animal control officer was dispatched to Taylor Creek Elementary School on Thursday after a dead bat was discovered on the campus. The school is located in Lampasas County.

Jury announcement made in assault case

A jury announcement has been made for a former member of the U.S. Army who faces a charge of aggravated assault. John Carl Phillips, 45, of Lampasas was indicted on Aug.

High-speed pursuit ends in arrest

One man is in custody after a multi-county, high-speed chase Wednesday evening. At approximately 6:49 p.m., Lampasas County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jerome Ervin conducted warrant surveillance at a business in Lometa where 54-year-old David Scott Parks was known to frequent.
