SPRING FEST, FARMERS MARKET Lampasas Spring Fest is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. around the downtown square. Plant, garden and art vendors will have booths set up, and food and drink concessions will be available. Various speakers will make presentations, beginning at 10 a.m.

Diamondback Jubilee alive and rattling after experiencing two-year hiatus

Despite two years of cancellations and winter freezes that affected the rattlesnake population, the 50 th annual Diamondback Jubilee and Rodeo was alive and buzzing over the weekend, officials said.

High-speed pursuit ends in arrest

One man is in custody after a multi-county, high-speed chase Wednesday evening. At approximately 6:49 p.m., Lampasas County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jerome Ervin conducted warrant surveillance at a business in Lometa where 54-year-old David Scott Parks was known to frequent.

County awarded $4.1M in ARPA funds

Lampasas County Commissioners Court on Monday discussed ways to utilize $4.1 million in federal funding. The court approved the money it received from the American Rescue Plan Act coronavirus funds. The money would apply to revenue lost due to the pandemic.
