LTX BBQ FEST The LTX BBQ Fest has been incorporated with the Riata Roundup this year and will take place April 30 at the 580 Sports Complex. The event kicks off at 9 a.m. Barbecue team entry fee is $200. Competition meats are chicken, ribs, pork and brisket.

The ninth annual Diamondback Rodeo was held over two nights at the Lometa Regional Park, as part of the 50 th anniversary celebration of the Diamondback Jubilee. Results follow. Friday Night Tiedown 1 st – Brandon Rhinehart of Waco 12.31 2 nd – Caden Clement of Gustine 12.

April Dwamena has been hired as headmistress of Providence Christian Academy of Lampasas, which is scheduled to open for the 2022-2023 school year. The academy will be housed at First United Methodist Church. An informational meeting about the new school will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Youth participate in mission to help community residents

The youth group at First United Methodist Church participated March 11-13 in a service mission for local residents, helping some elderly and disabled individuals with home repairs and lawn work. “It was really a see-a-need/ fill-a-need type of situation,” Youth Pastor John Groves said.
