Police department warns of phone scams

The Lampasas Police Department wants residents to be aware of a phone scam that is active in the area. According to the department’s Facebook page, officers have received reports from residents about callers contacting them who claim to be members of a police department.

LAMPASAS PILOT MEETING The Lampasas Pilot Association’s quarterly meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday at Putters and Gutters, 2341 U.S. Highway 281, in the back dining room. The meeting is open to all pilots and aviation enthusiasts, including drone aircraft enthusiasts.

Gone but not forgotten: Old county jail demolished

Within 10 months, the former county jail on East Fourth Street went from being a downtown landmark to a non-existent structure. The jail was built in 1972 to replace an outdated structure at the same site that dated to 1883 and had been condemned by the state health department.

Spring Fest returns to Lampasas after two-year hiatus

More than 300 plant enthusiasts made their way to the bandstand section of the courthouse square on Saturday morning to participate in this year’s Spring Fest. The event, sponsored by the Courtyard Square Association, was the organization’s first since the pandemic.
