Enjoying an afternoon tea

Trailer project earns blue ribbon in competition at Houston show

Lampasas FFA member Jaycee Lockhart took third place in her class with the agricultural mechanics project she entered at the Houston Livestock Show’s Agricultural Mechanics Show. Lockhart built a multipurpose feed and hay trailer. She also earned a blue ribbon for the quality of her project.

CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the April 6 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 963, compared to 504 last sale and 503 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers were $3-$5 lower, and heifers were $3-$5 higher. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were $2-$4 lower.

School board hears complaint about honor student policy

The Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday night addressed a grievance filed over the district’s policy for determination of the valedictorian/salutatorian and class rankings.

Drawing awareness to child abuse problems

Green Thumb program to focus on turf pests, diseases
