Green Thumb program to feature TPWD biologist Erin Wehland

The Green Thumb program for May, sponsored by the Highland Lakes Master Gardeners, will be held May 5 from 2-3 p.m. at Herman Brown Free Library in Burnet, at 100 E. Washington St. Guest speaker will be Erin Wehland, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department ildlife biologist.

Fundraiser on tap for fire department

AMVETS holds bench dedication

Department of Texas AMVETS held a ceremony April 19 at the Olin E. Teague Veterans Center in Temple to dedicate memorial benches in honor of two Lampasas County veterans. Ad Elbert Frank, who died May 26, 2020, was an Air Force veteran.

Williams seeking submissions for congressional art competition

Congressman Roger Williams (Texas District 25) is collecting submissions for the 2022 Congressional Art Competition. Every spring, each U.S. congressional district is given the opportunity to participate in this contest as a way to recognize the artistic talent of high school students.

CLASS REUNIONS

CLASS OF 1972 The Lampasas High School Class of 1972 will celebrate its 50-year reunion on July 8 from 6-9 p.m. at Putters & Gutters Fun Center, 2341 South U.S. Highway 281 in Lampasas. Cost is $15 per classmate. Food and beverages will be at the individual’s expense.

Lampasas County 27 th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings.
