Burn ban continues through July 24

A renewed county burn ban took effect Monday and is scheduled to remain in effect until July 24. The ban prohibits The ban prohibits outdoor burning outside Lampasas, Kempner and Lometa city limits.

EARLY VOTING TO CONCLUDE Today marks the last day of early voting for the May 7 election. In Lampasas, two City Council seats are contested, and two school board seats are on the ballot. Lometa voters also will elect two council members.

Riata royalty to be crowned

The crowning of the Riata Roundup Rodeo Queen and her court will take place Friday at 7:30 p.m. before the rodeo competition begins. Festivities will be held at the 580 Sports Complex. The riata is sponsored by the Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce.

Summer meals offered at no cost for youth up to age 18

The Lampasas ISD Nutrition Services Department has announced that its summer meals program will be offered again this year at no cost. Children and teens through age 18, plus LISD students with disabilities up to age 21, are eligible. No paperwork is required to participate.
