PRIMARY RUNOFF ELECTIONS Early voting is May 16-20 for the primary runoff elections. Voting is offered at the Lampasas County Election Office, 407 S. Pecan St. in Lampasas between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., or on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

There is a pasture north of town where tons of eggshells were dumped on the ground. The depth of the tiny, fragmented eggshells could be a foot or it could be eight feet. A thousand years from now, an archeologist digging this site will be puzzled by what he finds on the ground.

Two men were arrested last week after a high-speed chase. On Thursday at approximately 7:24 a.m., the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a parent whose son had taken the family vehicle – a 2019 Nissan Maxima – without permission.

Middle school teacher charged with driving while intoxicated

A Lampasas Middle School teacher was arrested last week after an alleged hit-and-run incident. On Friday about 9:30 a.m., Lampasas Police Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of South Key Avenue and Sixth Street in reference to a two-vehicle accident.

Lometa City Council OKs helicopter landing pad

The city of Lometa soon will have a helicopter landing pad at a local park, after the Lometa City Council members voted unanimously last week to approve the project. The small runway at the Lometa Regional Park will be for emergencies only.
