Voters ratify state constitutional amendments

Election statistics show Lampasas County voters favored two statewide constitutional amendments that will benefit the elderly community through property tax relief. Approximately 1.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant David Scott Parks of Elkhart pleaded guilty and was found guilty of driving while intoxicated-third or more.

GRAND JURY

The Lampasas County grand jury convened Wednesday in a continuation of its January term.

ARRESTS

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

Hernandez appointed to Kempner City Council

The Kempner City Council appointed stay-at-home mom and former corrections officer Debbie Hernandez to the Place 5 seat. After going into executive session Tuesday night to discuss the appointment, the council reconvened in open session and made the unanimous decision.

Road work continues on West Avenue C

A thermometer placed outside the Lampasas Dispatch Record office rose above the 100-degree mark Wednesday afternoon in the direct sun. This weekend, Lampasas should experience highs in the upper 90s and overnight temps in the low to mid-70s.
