Lometa City Council unanimously approves premium pay for employees

The Lometa City Council approved the use of American Rescue Plan Act funds to provide premium pay to city employees. Action came Monday night during the council’s regular monthly meeting. ARPA funding is a substantial infusion of federal resources to eligible state and local governments.

Motorcycle crash leaves two injured

A collision between two motorcycles on Memorial Day prompted a response from Texas DPS troopers. According to the DPS report, a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle driven by a 19-year-old male from Fort Hood was eastbound on U.S. Highway 190. The cyclist was approaching a traffic signal at FM 2808 and U.S.

The Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees will begin its fiscal year 2023 budget talks tonight. After its regular meeting when they are expected to vote on increased security measures, trustees will hold a special budget workshop. No vote is expected at the workshop.

Public input meeting affirms skate park design

A second public input session Wednesday on the Lampasas Skate Park helped to confirm design selections for the planned amenity. The meeting was held in person and virtually by city of Lampasas staff and representatives from SPA Skate Parks and New Line Skate Parks.

The Mayborn Science Theater, located on the campus of Central Texas College, recently announced its show lineup for the month of June. The schedule includes Saturday shows, weekday matinees, Laser Friday and a tour of the night sky. The Saturday show schedule starts at 11 a.m.
