KIWANIS SCHOLARSHIPS The Kiwanis Club is offering a $2,000 scholarship and a $1,500 scholarship to two continuingeducationstudents at an institution of higher learning such as a college, seminary, vocational or trade school. Deadline to apply is Aug. 15.

The report from the Aug. 3 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves:Total cattle 722, compared to 881 last sale and 778 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were $5-$7 higher. Slaughter cows were $8-$10 higher, and slaughter bulls were $3-$5 higher.

Vacation Bible School set for Monday in Lometa

Bend and Lometa United Methodist churches will hold a combined Vacation Bible School on Monday at the Lometa church, 100 S. Second St. Registration for thisone-day-only session for kindergarten through sixthgrade students is from 8-9 a.m.

Photography exhibit to run through October at museum

The Lampasas County Museum is featuring the work of two professional photographers in an exhibition that is planned to run through Oct. 29. “Picturing Lampasas: Photography by Gladden Corbin and Harold Harton” is the title of this special exhibition.
