Kempner holds school supply drive

Kempner City Hall was full of children and their parents during a school supply drive Saturday morning. Officials said the city gave away more than $2,000 in school supplies, backpacks and toiletries.

UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND GLOBAL CAMPUS Gemone Morrow of Kempner was named to the Dean's List for the spring semester at University of Maryland Global Campus. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earn a grade-point average of at least 3.

Sheep & Goat Workshop slated for Aug. 26

The AgriLife Extension offices in Lampasas, Coryell, Hamilton, Mills and Bosque counties will host a Multi-County Sheep & Goat Workshop Aug. 26 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hamilton County Commission Company. Registration is $20 per person, and lunch will be provided.

Lampasas to discuss new tax rate Aug. 22

DISPATCH RECORD The Lampasas City Council will consider a new property tax rate for the upcoming year in a meeting on Aug. 22. City Manager Finley deGraffenried said that, based on rising property values, the council may decide to reduce the tax rate.
