BUDGET HEARINGS The Lampasas Independent School District will hold a public hearing Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. in the LISD Administration Building, 207 W. Eighth St., to discuss the school district’s budget. A proposed tax rate of $1.2029 is being considered.

Sales tax receipts jump up again

After seeing its sales tax revenues dip in July for the first month since August 2019, Lampasas has rebounded this period to post an 11% gain. The city collected $263,538 for August 2022, which gives Lampasas a current-year total of $1.88 million in sales taxes.

Lometa school board begins its budget discussions

The Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees met Wednesday morning in the administration building. Agenda items included an initial presentation of the proposed 2022-2023 fiscalyear budget. Superintendent Rob Moore offered budget information to the trustees.
