School board honors outgoing member

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened Aug. 12 with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Joshua Jude Earl of Lampasas entered a plea of guilty and was found guilty of unauthorized use of a vehicle.

GRAND JURY

Lampasas County grand jury convened last week to continue the July 2022 term. Lampasas County Attorney John Greenwood and Assistant County Attorney Jessica Guy had information that resulted in the indictment of Keith Richard Hoffman on a charge of driving while intoxicatedthird or more on July 2.

Phillips pleads no contest to lesser felony charge

A Lampasas man pleaded no contest to a felony assault charge in district court on Aug. 12. In a hearing in 27th District Court, John Carl Phillips, 45, entered his plea to a charge of assault causing serious bodily injury, a second-degree felony, with a sentence set by the judge.
