North Pole couple on hand for Christmas celebration

The city of Kempner welcomed the Christmas season with its second annual Christmas in the Park celebration. The event was held at Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park Friday evening. Activities began at 4 p.m. and finished with a screening of Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

The Lampasas County grand jury convened last Wednesday to finish out the July term. Assistant County Attorney Jessica Guy presented information that resulted in the indictment of Nathan Whitman Shuford on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver on Nov. 3.
