Tree, gardening classes on tap

Lampasas Community Gardens will offer “Trees, part 2” on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall at First Presbyterian Church, 403 S. Chestnut St. Lucien Hodges with H&H Tree Service will explain about growing and sustaining healthy trees.

Bradley manslaughter trial reset

A jury trial for a Killeen man accused in a Lampasas manslaughter case has been rescheduled for late January. Stephen Jacob Bradley, 57, is accused of intoxication manslaughter and manslaughter with a deadly weapon in a 2020 crash in Lampasas County.

The next American Red Cross Community Blood Drive is scheduled for Feb. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Feb. 15 from 12:30-5:30 p.m. at First Street Church of Christ. Donors are desperately needed, said local coordinator Wanda Lang.

Lometa hires two city employees

The new year is adding new faces to the city of Lometa’s list of employees. Lometa City Council met last Tuesday for its regular January meeting and approved the hiring of a city secretary to replace Lindsey Grant, who resigned last month.
