Mental health wellness seminar set for Jan. 21

A program to assist residents with handling various mental health issues is coming to Lampasas County. The Jan. 21 Wellness Workshop will take place at Lampasas High School and is being sponsored by the Lampasas Ministerial Alliance.

Kempner council ponders new speed limits

Increasing traffic stops along U.S. Highway 190 highlighted the discussion at last week’s Kempner City Council meeting. In the yearly report from City Manager Heriberto Rodriguez, traffic enforcement contacts increased to 865 during 2022.

Lampasas ISD eyes ways to prevent THC-vaping

New measures are coming to Lampasas Independent School District to reduce THC-vaping problems. The changes were discussed at last week’s Board of Trustees meeting. The new policy recommendations were constructed by high school administrators, district officers and the school board.

Work underway at former Santa Fe Depot

The historic Santa Fe Depot building is being renovated, and new buildings are being added to the site. Owner Rick Hardin believes the site could house a restaurant or microbrewery and host special events. For more on what Hardin envisions for the project, see page 2.
