Historic Gillen House listed for sale

Shell & Shell Attorneys have confirmed that the historic Gillen House on Key Avenue is for sale. Eddie Shell isn’t trying to sell quickly, he said. “It could be several years before I sell it,” he wrote in an email statement sent by legal assistant Julie Perez.

Services pending for Jack B. Cox

Former Lampasas County commissioner Jack B. Cox of Adamsville died Jan. 29, 2023. He was 83. Funeral services are pending. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements. Cox graduated from Lampasas High School in 1958, and in 1959 went to work for the Texas Highway Department.

The Lampasas City Council voted unanimously last week to approve two measures: a reduced speed limit at the entrance to Lampasas High School, and the final reading of an ordinance allowing for taller buildings within city limits.

Construction continues on church addition

Brick has been added to the exterior of the Family Life Center being built by First Street Church of Christ, and church officials said the structure is on track for completion in late Febuary or early March.
