The Texas Water Foundation has announced the establishment of the Texas House Water Caucus, a bi-partisan collaborative focused on water issues with a starting roster of 38 legislators, including District 68 Rep. David Spiller (R-Jacksboro), who has been named the vice chair of the group.

Child sex abuse case headed to trial

A jury trial has been scheduled for a Midland man accused in a Lampasas case of child sex abuse. Kasey Shannon Calvery, 43, was announced ready for jury trial in the 27th District Court of Lampasas County last week. He faces a charge of sex abuse of a child-continuous with a victim under age 14.

The new economic development director began her role in mid-January, and she commenced touring Lampasas last week. Stacey Ybarra officially took the position on Jan. 17, assuming the title that Mandy Walsh held until she stepped down in October.
