Manslaughter trial set for March 3

A jury trial for a Killeen man accused in a Lampasas manslaughter case has been rescheduled for early March. Stephen Jacob Bradley, 57, is accused of intoxication manslaughter and manslaughter with a deadly weapon in a 2020 crash in Lampasas County.

Tax-Aide offers free tax preparation for area residents

The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is offering area residents assistance with income tax preparation. Appointments are available on Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. through April 11 at the Lampasas Senior Center, 901 S. Live Oak St. To set up an appointment for this free service, call 512-525-3854.

Blood drive to run Feb. 14-15

The next American Red Cross Community Blood Drive is scheduled for Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Wednesday from 12:30-5:30 p.m. at First Street Church of Christ. Donors are desperately needed, said local coordinator Wanda Lang.

TxDOT outlines U.S. 281 widening plan
