Senior Center receives new benches

Meal benefits Lampasas Mission

This group of ladies was among the participants at the annual chili and cornbread supper to support Lampasas Mission. The fundraiser was held last week at New Covenant Church.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings.

GRAND JURY

Lampasas County grand jury convened last week as a continuation of the January 2023 term. Investigator Wayne Hilgenberg of the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office presented information that resulted in two indictments: Paul Jacob Spensser on a charge of theft on June 18, 2021.

ARRESTS

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

Sculpture garden vandalized

The Lampasas Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying the culprits behind vandalism at the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden inside Campbell Park. This marks the second report of vandalism on the sculpture known as Glee within the last week.

Corix provides water system updates

Corix Utilities-Texas President Darrin Barker provided updates on the Lometa water system at Monday’s meeting of the Lampasas County Commissioners Court. Barker said Corix is in the process of developing a new water plan to improve the filtration system.
