Science and Faith Seminar set for Feb. 18-19

Topics of evolution and creation will be examined in a Science and Faith Seminar hosted by First Street Church of Christ Feb. 18-19. Dr. Kirt Martin, professor of biology at Lubbock Christian University, will lead the seminar. The Feb. 18 seminar starts at 9 a.m.

Lampasas County 27th District Court has convened several times this month, with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the hearings. Althea Jean Yazzie of Lometa received seven years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, probated for seven years, for driving while intoxicated-third or more.

Lometa council discusses upgrades for park, City Hall

Lometa’s City Council meeting Monday was full of new agenda items, mostly regarding facilities around the city. These included the potential for City Hall upgrades and new equipment at the regional park.
